Do you feel you need to snack shortly after dinner? I have noticed for the past year or so that I have a snacking issue about 30 to 60 minutes after I have dinner. I am aware that I am not hungry, but I just crave that snack of whatever I can get my hands on. It never seems to be a craving for celery or carrots.
Well, just last night it happened again only this time I really couldn’t give into my cravings. You see, starting January 2nd of each year I start a detox of all inflammatory foods in order to give my organs and body a break after the holiday season. This year I have a goal set for 2 solid weeks. Therefore, I am committed to not consuming any of those foods that I crave at night.
I was craving potato chips so I immediately starting tapping on the urge and after 3 rounds of tapping I came to the conclusion that it was the end of my day, I had finally sat down to watch part of a movie I had recorded and I wasn’t moving. Hmmmm, so I guess I need to do so much more tapping on why I need to be busy, busy, busy in order to not think about snacking. I’m curious to find out why and I know it will eventually surface. In the meantime, I will continue to be aware of what I’m doing (or not doing) when that urge to snack takes over my body and I will tap, tap, tap to get past the moment.
I’ll let you know what I find out in my next blog.
