
As I had mentioned in a previous post, every January I detox my body of inflammatory foods. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of studies done on different types of detox programs and the benefits of each. This year has been different from the previous years and I have been trying to figure out why it has not been such a struggle in the first week, as in previous years. During my meditation this morning a calming thought and feeling came over me. I think I am experiencing true self love… imagine that?
For years I have been studying many energy modalities to not only improve my life and health, but to help my clients and friends improve their lives. Every single class, video, webinar and book all talk about how it starts with self love. How could that be? Weren’t we always told that as women, we have to put everyone else first? That we can’t make it about us? I grew up in a household where mom took care of 4 kids, the house and the pets. Oh yeah, she worked full time, also. She showed love to everyone except herself.
Are you one of those women? You just don’t think you deserve love or you can’t imagine how everyone will survive if you focus on yourself? The biggest question is DO YOU LOVE YOURSELF unconditionally, like you do your children or grandchildren or your pets? It all starts with us.
So you may be saying to yourself, “Jan, what does this have to do with losing weight?” The answer is that it may always be a struggle to take that weight off and keep it off until we believe we are worthy and deserving of it and put ourselves first. It may always be a struggle until we remove those negative beliefs about who we are and what is possible. I have been using EFT on these beliefs for a while now. Could you learn to love yourself enough and make your health a priority? I think I’m finally there.
